Lamination: All Fotoforms Photo Cutouts are protected
by a thick, high gloss, premium clarity, protective laminate which protects the
surface of your image from moisture, scratching, and UV fading
Clear Acrylic Backing: Because we cut by laser,
Fotoforms Photo Cutouts can be mounted to less distracting, clear acrylic. Competitors
use colored acrylic to conceal saw scratches
No extra charges: unlike some competitors, we
won’t charge you more for complicated interior cuts or extra people in the Cutout
Artist programmed laser-cut path: Degreed commercial
artists plot the program for your Photo Cutout. This is important to make your Cutout
look right. We ordered the Cutout at right from a competitor. Notice they cut around
the foot of the player, making the foot look like it’s floating, when in fact it
should be touching the ground. Our artists visualize the finished product and follow
artistic “rules” like the establishment of a “horizon line” that would prevent this
mistake
Laser-Cut Edges are clean and smooth. Saw cutting
rips through the photo and can result in frayed and lifted edges over time
Beveled and Polished Base that Fits: We route
and polish the top edge of our bases for a nice, finished look. Since we make our
own bases, we stock over 25 sizes so your photo will look “right” on it’s base.
Many competitors only have a few sizes, so they either put your Photo Cutout on
too large a base, or widen the bottom of your Photo Cutout to fit the width of the
base they have. Both examples are shown at bottom right
Permanent mounting of the Photo Cutout to base:
We chemically weld your Cutout to the base for a very tight bond and a nice clean
seam. Sure, a removable base saves a dollar or two in the initial shipping, but
you have to put up with the segmented seam forever. However, sometimes a removable
base does make sense, like if you are ordering many displays for your business and
need to ship to multiple locations. Just let us know and we can quote that option

*Within reason of course. For Example, we won’t cut out all the squares in your
soccer net, and we may choose to leave in some interior areas in your Photo Cutout
in order to preserve structural integrity, or just because it will look better that
way. If you only send lots of photos with large groups of people we may discuss
adding an extra charge to keep us from loosing money, but for almost all photos
you might send we keep the pricing simple and base it only on the size of the finished
product.
